For Example: Scanning a shoe

maybe a stupid question.
If you would scan an shoe with Sole. What is the best practise?
I tried to make photos around the shoe in 3 levels, then I put
the shoe on the side to make photos of the sole, but Zephyr can't
detect it.

Sorry to span you with questions. I am a bloody beginner

One way to capture something like a shoe with it's sole would be to have it propped up with 3 points so you can see 99.9% of the shoe without having to touch/move it. Mounting things in a clever way to see most of your subject without touching it is a great way to improve the quality of your scans.

If you touch/move it you run the risk of camera misorientation (or orientation failure) - If you can share some pictures we can give you direct feedback and advise on how to improve your image acquisition and subsequently your results in 3DF Zephyr

from what you say it sounds like you moved the subject. You must keep background and foreground coherent, so in your case, you will need to mask the subject https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dGRw8LbXknU
