Problem: Light spots create indentations in the 3d model (3df Zephyr Free 6.009)

    Hi all,
I have a problem scanning a miniature. Places that produce very bright spots of light in the images (due to painting or real reflections) are displayed as indentations in the 3d model. I have already tried with very high scan settings, but at the brightest spots the problem persists. Do you know a solution, other than reconstructing it at a later stage in a 3d package? I am using 3df Zephyr Free 6.009.

    Hi Daniel,

highlights can be problematic as the subject changes between one photo and the other.

You should consider trying different, diffused lights and eventually try adding more photos - it's a bit difficult for me without looking at the photos themselves, however from you rfirst attached image it seems like the image is very noise (lower your iso) and not very in focus. Make sure to get the best possible images in order to help zephyr create the best possible model. I suggest using a tripod and a remote to shoot close range.
