Image capture

Hi everyone,
I'm interested in what low cost multiple image capture setups people use. I'm looking at creating a Rapberry Pi array starting with 30 cameras, or networking 30 android phones (cheaper!).
Anyone have any of these setups in use at the moment?

i've seen a few rigs, i think low-cost wise raspberry cameras are better than android phones. If you get the new raspberry camera, rememebr that it's not fixed focal lenght so you have to manually tweak each camera first.
