Can you achieve the same quality textured mesh from video vs. photos.

Has anyone compared the results on a project using video vs. photos? Were the results similar? What was the resolution and frames per second you used on the video? What settings did you use in the workflow? We scan boats and wondering if video would be a way to go.

Hi mrcanvas - Welcome to the forum.

Stills are generally preferred over video in most instances as they typically have higher resolution, a wider dynamic range, and have less artifacting issues than frames extracted from video.

Any time saved on capture with video is likely to cost more time fixing in post production, especially with subjects like boats which often have large homogenous surface panels where detail capture is important.
