The Generate and exports normal maps function


This function opens the window that allows the generation and export of normal maps and displacement maps. It's necessary to have a high poly mesh and a low poly textured mesh in the workspace in order to create any of these maps.


Additional settings can be tweaked so that the exported maps are compatible with your desired destination: make sure to double check how the exported maps should be ingested (e.g. by a destination rendering engine) as some software might specifically require normal maps to be formatted in a specific way.

Displacement maps can also be optionally generated by checking the appropriate checkboxes in this dialog.
